Most children love playing maths games and its a good easy way to support their learning. Developing early maths skills is vitally important to enable your child to succeed in early learning and beyond. Practising at home is an important step in your childs learning journey.

Mission 2 Maths has activities that you can enjoy with your child in the world away from school. It is simple to use, looks great and will captivate children from the start.

The app introduces basic number concepts in a fun and engaging way to help your child learn through interaction with different planets, aliens and space rockets. This exciting space mission travels through 4 different zones - each with a different level of difficulty.

The app does not overwhelm children with maths. Mission 2 Maths progresses slowly through the different levels with some recap games along the way; there are also some helpful checking activities to ensure that your child has got the hang of it.

The Mission 2 Maths app is particularly good for children learning to identify and count with numbers, and ordering numbers 1-5 and 1-10. It has simple addition and subtraction activities that are tailored to your childs needs. The levels of difficulty are well-balanced and the small steps ensure that your child progresses successfully through each level.

The app offers visual and oral clues to help them out if they get stuck! There is always help along the way.

In Adult Mode - you can watch the progress of your child. There is also the option to turn activities on and off so that the child cannot race ahead without consolidating their understanding.

The app has a review page whereby parents and/or teachers can easily see how well the child is doing and where more practice or challenge is needed. Success is celebrated at various intervals too.

** Mission 2 Maths is also currently being trialled in Barking and Dagenham as part of an initiative to develop parental involvement with maths using iPads as an interactive learning aid. **
